Our vacancies

Director of Health Economics

The role includes:

  • Strategic input to the design and operational development of health economic models including:
  • Innovative approaches to health economic decision problems such as in rare diseases or where there are limited data – for BioPharma, MedTech and IVD clients
  • Cost utility models
  • Cost effectiveness/cost benefit models
  • Budget impact models
  • Contribute to dossier development
  • Review of clinical and economic data
  • Input to strategic direction of submissions – both clinical and economic sections and on submissions as a whole
  • Option to lead and manage submissions if this is an area of interest and time allows
  • Workshop strategy
  • Support development of strategic workshops to meet client needs, especially where there is a significant health economics element or opportunity
  • Contribute to delivery of workshops where required
  • Pricing submissions to the UK Department of Health & Social Care (DHSC) and its equivalent in other countries
  • Support clients in development of their pricing strategy using analogues and changes in health policy, as well as the experience of the management team
  • Use existing clinical and economic data to develop submissions to the DHSC
  • Project management
  • Project and client management for certain key clients and projects – to be agreed
  • Monitoring and updating of individual projects and an overall project and client tracking tool, where relevant to projects being directly worked on
  • Business development
  • Support the board of management in development of proposals to continuously grow the consulting side of MAP BioPharma
  • Support the continuous improvement of content of the web based subscription service operated by MAP BioPharma (www.mapbiopharma.com and www.mapmedtech.com)
  • Role development
  • Actively engage in the process to develop the role in an appropriate way to maintain personal development and commitment to the business
  • Options for this role to develop – subject to the individual’s personal aims and objectives include but are not limited to:
    • Policy & Public affairs – engaging with UK and Ireland and EU governments on matters relating to pricing, health economics and market access policy
    • Academic engagement – developing and maintaining a network of contacts in academia to provide a resource for MAP in the future

Essential Criteria

  • Experience of developing and leading a HEOR team
  • Masters qualification in Health Economics
  • Client facing experience
  • Experience and knowledge of working within NICE guidelines for HTA submissions
  • Relevant industry experience either in-house or within consultancy
  • Ability to effectively model using Excel (VBA), STATA, R, TreeAge or a combination of these
  • Ability to produce budget impact, cost analysis, Decision Tree and Markov models
Market Access Director

Due to the internal promotion of our current Market Access Director we are looking for a highly talented individual who can lead our experienced team of Market Access professionals.

  • You will have a track record in enabling new medicines, medical devices or technologies to reach the patients that need them most by successfully navigating national decision-making processes and the challenges these present
  • You will have first class skills in leading and coaching teams, developing the next generation of Market Access professionals
  • You will have an established network of contacts engaged in decisions regarding the use of new medicines, medical devices and diagnostics within national decision-making and healthcare organisations, as well as those that advise them

Working with the wider consulting team, you will develop proposals to grow the business and improve existing and identify new service offerings. You also will provide strategic input and creative solutions to ensure our clients are able to bring new innovations to market in a timely manner.

Health Economics and Market Access Consultant

We are a small consultancy company helping pharmaceutical and medical device companies launch new products in Europe with primary focus on UK and Ireland. Our team are quick thinkers, great problem solvers with a very diverse background ranging from pharmacy and mathematics to industry. With a rapidly growing workload, we are looking for health economists to join our team.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Design and develop health economic models including cost-utility and cost-effectiveness
  • Develop bespoke models for clients, often in the area of rare and ultra-rare diseases
  • Write reports outlining methods and findings of project work
  • Attend client meetings, NICE/SMC/AWMSG meetings and conferences and present findings when necessary

Internal career progression is actively encouraged and tailored to your specific skills and interests.

The essential skills are as follows:

  • Masters degree in the field of Health economics
  • Minimum 1 year experience in consultancy or a pharmaceutical company, or other relevant experience
  • Advanced Knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Public Affairs Associate Consultant

Policy & Public Affairs and MAP Online Associate Consultant

Salary depending on experience + bonus + private medical insurance + life insurance + pension + EMI share scheme

MAP is looking for someone with an interest in supporting access to medicines who has practical experience in health policy and public affairs and/or research, analysis and development.

Candidate will support the research and synthesis of information and evidence to contribute to the continuous improvement of the MAP Online service as well as having opportunities to contribute to the market access and public affairs consulting projects that our 100+ clients require. Ongoing training will be offered for the position and many development opportunities exist for the right candidate. The successful candidate will have a varied working day, including research and policy analysis, news and web content development, briefing development, stakeholder engagement and events organisation, as well as ongoing client liaison and new business development.

    Researching documents from Health bodies, government departments, and other relevant institutions across the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.

  • Researching parliamentary activity to identify priority developments and potential supporters for clients
  • Researching, developing, writing and critiquing MAP Online content
  • Supporting the development and distribution of monthly newsletters. Updating news and events on the website and monitoring news items received daily, including updates on specific health policy of relevance to our clients
  • Keeping abreast of health policy and political developments of relevance to MAP clients
  • Reviewing monitoring bulletins and email alerts for items of relevance to MAP consulting and online clients
  • Developing updates on specific health policy and public developments for individual clients
  • Developing monitoring reports and consultation trackers for clients based on agreed templates
  • Writing policy summaries, correspondence and briefings for clients and MAP Online

Senior Clinical Writer

As a Senior Clinical Writer, you will spend time developing and reviewing value communication materials alongside developing health technology assessment submissions. You will be a detailed researcher who is able to prepare advisory panels and documentation to support client launch activities. Experience of performing strategic literature reviews is a must and will enhance your appeal during the recruitment process.

You will take a proactive approach to the design and development of communication tools to support market access strategy, including taking innovative approaches to problems in collating, manipulating, analysing and describing data. A large percentage of your work will be working within the rare disease market, producing work of a high quality where there may be scarce data.

You will support the wider business in the development of, and participation in, strategic workshops to meet client needs, especially where there is a significant health clinical element or opportunity.

We are looking for an individual who has experience of reviewing and quality checking materials prepared by other writers. Your role will also include providing support for more junior and/or less experienced writers in a mentoring or training capacity.

As a senior member of the team you will have early project and client exposure where you will be monitoring and updating on individual projects and on overall projects and client tracking tool, where relevant to the project being directly worked on.
